Remember Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Rob proposed to Jane on Christmas Eve with the bride's father present. It was meaningful to plan a celebration of happiness and gave the family something to look forward to after losing Jane's mother to breast cancer a few months before in November.

The couple chose Brookstone Park in Derry to celebrate their wedding. It allowed them to have their ceremony outside and have the reception indoors. The theme of the wedding was fall with a celebration of breast cancer awareness; the colors were appropriately brown and pink. Pale pink roses were the flower of choice along with the simple, elegant chocolate brown bridesmaid dresses and brown tuxedos for the groom and groomsmen. A donation on behalf of all the guests was made to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation in memory of Jane's mother, Jozefa Prochadszka. 3 balloons were also released after a reading during the ceremony to remember the bride's mother and others who were no longer with the couple and family on the wedding day.

Jane and Rob's day was made even more special because they were able to celebrate their love for each other while remembering the love and support Jozefa had always given her daughter. Giving to the Avon Breast Cancer Foundation was a meaningful way to honor Jane's mother and also prompted wedding guests to go to the foundation's site to make their own donations in memory of Jozefa.
