Joshua popped the question on a two day back packing trip through the Pemigewasset wilderness on top of Mt. Bond cliff in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Continuing with the mountain theme, we chose the rustic post and beam ski lodge at Gunstock Ski Resort for our ceremony. When the folks at Gunstock told us we could also have our reception on top of the mountain we were sold.
Our center piece’s were lanterns on top of granite piles of rock that were to represent careens on top of mountains. We used mountain names instead of table numbers, which painted on small wooden signs held up by rocks. In lieu of place cards for seating assignments, we used Gunstock Lift tickets with our wedding date and table names on them for every person.
We had our wedding ceremony on top of Gunstock with a wonderful group of family and friends, and could not have asked for better weather. We had great views of the surrounding lakes and distant White Mountains. Instead of walking down the isle we rode up a chair lift. It was the best day of both of our lives!
