Cody & Cassie

We met the summer of 2016. Cassie was 19, and Cody 22. Cassie was home from college and Cody reached out to her because he had a dream he broke his leg and she had to bring him to the hospital… little did they know a year into their relationship this would come true and Cody would endure surgery and a long healing process. This sparked Cassie’s interest in the radiology field and she went to school for Radiology the first 5 years of their relationship. With Cody being the best supporter, they were able to get their first apartment while Cassie was in school, and then they bought a mobile home 6 months later. While being at the mobile home they re-did the floors, walls, bathroom and kitchen so they could flip and sell it. Cody proposed to Cassie at her graduation party in front of all of their friends and family. He had both her brothers involved in the proposal and everyone knew except for her. With their hard work and determination with school, work, 3 dogs, newly engagement and their dreams they were able to sell their first home and buy their forever home on 50 acres in Maine. They now have 11 chickens, 5 dogs, 4 cats, & 3 fish. Cassie and Cody just got married at Longlook Farm on October 8th, 2022 after 2 years of planning. Their wedding was truly everything they could’ve dreamt of. With the help of their closest friends and family they were able to pull off a 4 day weekend they will never forget. Every detail of the wedding was planned by Cassie & Cody. Cody even built their arbor. Now that they are married, their goal is to focus on home renovations, start a (human) family, and continue doing what they love to do, enjoying new experiences and living each day full of love and thankfulness. Their drive and hard work is what their relationship is built off of, and they will continue to conquer life’s adventure together.

The dream dress- Since Cassie was a little girl her dream was to have a big, sparkly dress. Since her aunt owns Blush Bridal, she knew she was going to be able to customize a Casablanca dress that would fulfill all her dreams. She wanted the longest train she’s ever seen, so they customized a 12 foot long train. She also wanted to be light and free for reception and dancing so she was able to customize the dress so the train came off and revealed her sparkly a-line dress. She knew she wanted off the shoulder so the dress would stay up better. When you think of Cassie, her personality would scream “big and sparkly!!!” She is outgoing and needed a dress that portrayed her sparkle. As a little girl, this dress is everything she imagined she would wear for her special day. She never saw herself in any other option. Although they did not do a first look, Cody had no idea her dress was 2-in-1 so they had him distracted while she unbuttoned her train to surprise him. When she stood up the train fell- revealing her sparkly a-line reception dress. This non-traditional “surprise” look had Cody gasping!! They caught the surprise on camera and it was the best reaction. Cassie cannot believe how amazing it all came out- having to design through a sketch on paper is a very “trust the process moment” but seeing it all come to life is what she wanted the dress to be about. She felt like a real life queen.

About the dress…….. We started with Casablanca style bl371. Changed the shape from Aline to fit and flare, removed the top tulle to expose just the sparkly skirt. We removed the train also. Then we created a removable full ballgown skirt with a 12 foot train. The shape of style 2394 but with the original tulle and appliqués of bl371.   Dress- Blush Bridal @blushbridalnh
